I was very sorry to hear that Chuck had passed. In recent years, we exchanged birthday and Christmas cards. Being confined, he said he truly appreciated the contact. But I still have a hard time calling him "Chuck". He was  "Charles" to me, since we met in 7th grade. I recall a story from about Freshman year when John Bruner first met him, and called him Chuck. He responded " My mother wants you to call me Charles". That settled that.
My deepest sympathy to Jack and Barb, having lost Charles, and also their kind and loving daughter, Nikki, only a few days apart. Already, I miss seeing Nikki when I visit my mother at Friendship Haven. Nikki worked there for many years, and always had a smile ready for those in her care, or anyone else, for that matter. Very sweet young lady.

I have a memory of Chuck when he went by Charlie at a time when you really couldn't tell Chuck from Jack. He would say, "I'm Charlie, that's my brother Jack. I'm the better looking one." Miss you Charlie.
